Rei Kawakubo’s newest shopping empire, located on Manhattan’s Lexington Avenue, is the third Dover Street Market location in the world (following London and Tokyo). The 71-year-old creative mind behind Commes des Garçons’ 20,000 square foot store occupies seven floors, some of which are dedicated to well-known brands like Prada and Saint Laurent, while others feature smaller areas showcasing lesser known up-and-coming designers. There’s also the fantastic Rose Bakery restaurant worth visiting, which you can already find inside the DSM stores in London and Tokyo.
